    In Q2 of 2023, 0.65 million tonnes of virgin kraftliner and 0.60 million tonnes of kraftliner commenced production respectively in Shenyang base and Malaysia base.

    Hubei PM46 & Wood Pulp Line Commenced Production in Q4 of 2022
    In Q4 of 2022, PM46 (0.60 million tonnes in virgin kraftliner) and 0.6 million tonnes of wood pulp capacity commenced production in Hubei.
  • Wood Pulp Line Commenced Trial Production in Q4 of 2022
    A total of 1.1 million tonnes of wood pulp capacity commenced production in Q4 of 2022 in Dongguan and Chongqing.
  • PM45 Commenced Trial Production in June 2022
    In June 2022, PM45 (0.60 million tonnes in linerboard) commenced trial production in Hubei. It will commence production in second half of 2022.

    PM43 Commenced Production in Second Half of 2020
    In second half of 2020, PM43 (0.6 million tonnes in linerboard) commenced production in Dongguan.
  • PM41 Commenced Production in Second Half of 2020
    In second half of 2020, PM41 (0.5 million tonnes in linerboard) commenced production in Hebei.
  • Agreement on Building Hubei Pulp and Paper Base
    In June 2020, the Group signed an agreement with Jianli County of Jingzhou City, Hubei Province to build Nine Dragons Paper’s Hubei pulp and paper base. The base is expected to commence production in 2022, adding a production capacity of 0.6 million tpa for kraft pulp and 1.2 million tpa for packaging paper.

    PM42 Commenced Trial Production in December 2019
    In December 2019, PM42 (0.6 million tonnes in linerboard) commenced trial production in Shenyang. It commenced production in second half of 2020.
  • PM39 Commenced Trial Production in November 2019
    In November 2019, PM39 (0.35 million tonnes in linerboard) commenced trial production in Quanzhou. It commenced production in second half of 2020.
  • Acquisition of Pulp and Paper Mill in Malaysia to Expand Reserve of Upstream Resources
    In September 2019, Nine Dragons Paper successfully acquired a pulp and paper mill in Malaysia and attained 0.48 million tpa of recycled pulp production capacity.
  • Acquisition of Packaging Mills to Expand Downstream Business
    In July 2019, Nine Dragons Paper announced the acquisition of several packaging mills, including the mills in Taicang, Dongguan, Tianjin, Zhangmutou and Quanzhou which are in operation to produce corrugated sheets and boxes.
  • PM40 Commenced Production in February 2019
    In February 2019, PM40 (0.55 million tonnes in linerboard) commenced production in Chongqing.
  • 2018
    Acquisitions of Pulp and Paper Mills in the United States
    In June 2018, the Group acquired two fully-integrated pulp and paper mills in the U.S., located in Rumford, Maine and Biron, Wisonsin respectively. In October 2018, the Group completed the acquisition of a pulp mill in Old Town, Maine, U.S. In November 2018, the Group completed its acquisition of a recycled pulp mill in Fairmont, West Virginia, U.S.

    VN(PM2) Commenced Production in August 2017
    In August 2017, VN(PM2) (0.35 million tonnes in linerboard) commenced production in Vietnam.

    PM38 Commenced Production in January 2014
    In January 2014, PM38 (0.30 million tonnes in high performance corrugating medium) commenced production in Leshan, Sichuan.

    PM33 Commenced Production in November 2012
    In November 2012, PM33 (0.55 million tonnes in coated duplex board) commenced production in Chongqing.
  • PM34 Commenced Production in July 2012
    In July 2012, PM34 (0.55 million tonnes in coated duplex board) commenced production in Tianjin.
  • 2011
    New and Upgraded PMs Commenced Production in June 2011
    In June 2011, 4 new PMs commenced production, including PM27 (0.55 million tonnes in coated duplex board) & PM28 (0.25 million tonnes in recycled printing and writing paper) in Dongguan, and PM31 (0.40 million tonnes in testlinerboard) & PM32 (0.40 million tonnes in kraftlinerboard) in Tianjin. The upgrading of 3 PMs were also completed, including PM3 (0.40 million tonnes in coated linerboard) in Dongguan and PM20 (0.43 million tonnes in coated linerboard) & PM21 (0.20 million tonnes in recycled printing & writing paper) in Taicang.
  • New Production Base in North-eastern China
    In February 2011, the Group announced that a new production base is being planned near Shenyang. With an annual design capacity of 3.5 million tonnes, PM37 commenced production in September 2014.
  • Further Enhance Market Share in Northern China
    In January 2011, the Group has entered into a transaction to acquire 78.13% controlling equity interest of Hebei Yongxin Paper Co., Ltd. ("Hebei Yongxin") from two subsidiaries of Shanghai Industrial Holdings Limited, which was completed in March 2011. Such move has not only enlarged the Group's market share in northern China, but also creates synergy for the Group's production base in Tianjin by the sharing of resources in procurement and sales.

    PM29 and PM30 Commenced Production in December 2010
    In December 2010, PM29 and PM30 commenced production in Taicang, increasing the production capacity of kraftlinerboard & light weight high performance corrugating medium by 0.40 million tonnes and 0.30 million tonnes respectively.
  • New Medium-sized Production Base in Quanzhou,Fujian Province
    In September 2010, the Group announced the establishment of a medium-sized production base in Quanzhou, Fujian province. In August and October 2013, PM35 and PM36 commenced production respectively.
  • 2008
    PM18, 19, 20 and 21 commenced production in June 2008
    In June 2008, PM18 and PM19 commenced production in Dongguan, increasing production capacity of corrugating medium and linerboard by 0.35 million tonnes and 0.45 million tonnes respectively.

    In the same month, PM20 and PM 21 commenced production in Taicang, the annual design capacity of linerboard and corrugating medium increased by 0.45 million tonnes and 0.35 million tonnes respectively.
  • Entry into Vietnam
    In May 2008, Nine Dragons Paper entered Vietnam by setting up joint venture "Cheng Yang Paper (Vietnam)", expediting the Company's entry into the ASEAN markets such as Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.
  • Leshan Base
    In May 2008, the handover of operations and productions of Sichuan Qian Wei and Sichuan Rui Song was completed. The projects will lead Nine Dragons Paper into the development of high value specialty paper production.
  • 2007
    4th Production Base in China
    The Group finalized the location of its 4th production base in Tianjin in September 2007, perfecting the Group's geographical coverage in China. It has commenced operations in September 2009 with 2 new paper machines PM25 & PM26.
  • PM11,12,13,16 & 17 commenced operation to maintain Nine Dragons' leadership position across all containerboard products
    In January 2007, PM11 commenced production in Dongguan, bringing the Group's total annual production capacity in coated duplex board to 950,000 tonnes. Within the same month, PM16 and PM17 also commenced production in Taicang, adding 700,000 tonnes of high performance corrugating medium. In August 2007, PM12 and PM13 commenced operations and the total annual designed capacity reached 5.35 million tonnes per annum.
  • 2006
    3rd Production Base in China
    In November 2006, the Group announced its plan to build its 3rd production base in Chongqing, to service the escalating containerboard demand in the region due to fast industrial growth. Production has commenced since August 2008 with 2 new paper machines PM22 & PM23.

    After a decade of experience in the industry, in 2006, Nine Dragons Paper has entered the prime of its growth phase with a group management style. Nine Dragons Paper has a well-established management system that emphasizes fairness and impartiality, coordination and a peaceful workplace atmosphere, which together embody the Nine Dragons Spirit of "dedicated and devoted, united and progressive, focusing on quality, honesty and reliability". Nine Dragons Paper is becoming a modern business group with corporate practices in line with international standards.

    Nine Dragons Paper was successfully listed on the Main Board of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited on 3 March 2006 and was included in the Hang Seng Composite Index Series. With 10 years' outstanding track record, Nine Dragons Paper is making steady and confident strides towards excellence to create a glorious future.
  • 2005
    PM9 and PM10 commenced operation to make Nine Dragons Paper the No.1 manufacturer in China
    In December 2005, the corrugating medium production lines PM9 and PM10 came into operation, taking the Group's annual total production capacity to 3.3 million tonnes. Within just a decade, Nine Dragons Paper has successfully established and started 10 production lines, and grew rapidly into the leader of the packaging paperboard industry in production scale.
  • 210MW thermal power generating units going on grid
    In May 2005, our 210MW thermal power generating units successfully commenced on-grid power generation. As a result, the total thermal power generating capacity of the Dongguan production base of Nine Dragons Paper increased to 350MW, comparable to a medium scale power plant. The on-grid power generation of the 210MW generating units not only assures Nine Dragons Paper a stable and sufficient electricity supply and enhancement of efficiency, but also effectively eases the pressure on the local electricity supply, thus winning the applause of the local government and enterprises.
  • 2004
    Two million tonnes productivity breakthrough and remarkable sales record
    High performance corrugating medium production lines PM6 and PM7 commenced operations in October 2004 and subsequently bringing Nine Dragons Paper's aggregate annual production capacity increased to 2.35 million tonnes in 1 January 2005. The addition of corrugating medium effectively expanded the variety and market reach of the Company. More encouraging is that Nine Dragons Paper's products, given their high degree of popularity and market acceptance, recorded impressive sales across the board. We have secured a relatively large market share not only in Guangdong, but also across China, as the promising growth momentum in our productivity and sales continues.
  • Successful establishment of ND Xing An
    In February 2004, we successfully established Nine Dragons Xing An Pulp & Paper (Inner Mongolia) Co. Ltd. ("ND Xing An") as an equity joint venture with China Inner Mongolia Forestry Industry Co., Ltd., which owns abundant forestry resources. Subsequently, ND Xing An's annual production capacity of kraft pulp rose from the original 50,000 tonnes to 120,000 tonnes. The establishment of the joint venture also marked Nine Dragons Paper's success in integrating the three elements into a complete chain, which together with the adoption of recycled waste paper for use as raw materials, further reinforced its image as a green enterprise. Owing to unsatisfactory financial performance of the joint venture, the Group has disposed of all its interest in ND Xing An in 2014.
  • 2003 - 2006
    Obtain ISO Quality and Environmental Standard and OHSAS Certifications
    Nine Dragons Paper successfully obtained the ISO Quality and Environmental Standard Certifications and the Occupational Health and Safety Management System Certification in 2003 to 2006. With the implementation of these effective controls, the Company's performance in product quality, environmental protection and work safety have been improving continuously. Besides, international management practices have also been incorporated to align the management standards of Nine Dragons Paper with those of the international community.
  • 2003
    Commencement of production of coated duplex board with grey back
    In October 2003, PM4 commenced production with a designed annual production capacity of coated duplex board of 450,000 tonnes. This paper machine integrated advanced technologies of leading industry participants from Europe, America and Japan. On 1 January 2005, Nine Dragons Paper, which was previously engaged in the manufacturing of kraftlinerboard only, acquired PM 4 to take its first step towards product diversification.
  • 2000 - 2002
    Establishment of the Taicang production base
    With unique insight, Nine Dragons Paper identified the future development direction of the industry and purchased more than 3,800 acres of land in Taicang and Dongguan in 2000 to 2002. In November 2003, PM5 was installed and commenced operation. It was later acquired by Nine Dragons Paper on 1 January 2005. In April 2005, PM8 had a successful test run and subsequently raised the total annual production capacity of the Taicang production base to 950,000 tonnes. The establishment of the Taicang production base proved Nine Dragons Paper tobe a successful two-prong packaging paperboard production network covering the Pearl River Delta and the Yangtze River Delta.
  • Annual production capacity hitting one million tonnes
    In June 2000 and in May 2002, Nine Dragons Paper's PM2 and PM3 commenced operation to increase Nine Dragons Paper's total annual production capacity to one million tonnes. It required Nine Dragons Paper nine months to successfully install and commence operation of PM3, and this was then a new record for the installation of paper machines. Meanwhile, Nine Dragons Paper also grew at a record speed to become a leading packaging paperboard manufacturer with an annual production capacity of one million tonnes in China.
  • 1998
    Commencement of production of Phase I
    In July 1998, the first paper machine, or PM1, with an annual design production capacity of 200,000 tonnes of kraftlinerboard at the production base in Dongguan operated by a subsidiary of Nine Dragons Paper (Holdings) Limited achieved success in its test run. This event marked the entry of Nine Dragons Paper to the packaging paperboard production industry in China and was a good start to laying the foundation for a business that thrives for a century.
